"Blind Flight"
|
This is a larger piece (8" x 10") done in water-based markers, colored pencils and ink on Bristol paper. I did my preliminary sketch a couple of weeks ago and finally got around to finishing it off. I put my back out shoveling my car out of the snow last Friday, so working on artwork is one of the few tasks I seem to be able to manage.

I thought it might be fun to take a few scans of my progress on this piece, so here they are:

"Shawnee"
|
It was a rainy day here in Shawnee County. I got absolutely nothing done around the house. All I managed were the obligatory walks with Asha and doodlling in the studio. I just wish I had a few elves around to do some cleaning and tidying while I spend my time in more enjoyable pursuits. Oh well, at least Asha doesn’t care if the house is a mess.

Angel of the Buried Bone
|
This is the final card that I made for a swap at iATCs. The other cards in this series may be viewed here. This card was inspired by my dog, Asha Zoe, who loves to take the treats I give her out to the back yard and bury them. She will bring them back indoors at some later date, after they have been sufficiently aged and are totally gross. She must have an angel who watches over this process, because she never gets sick after consuming one of these atrocities.

Family Ties
|
The last couple of months have been a little rough. My mom was in hospitals and other facilities for around six weeks and I had two long bouts of flu. Hopefully, things have settled down. My mom is doing well and other than still having a cough, I am feeling better. I finally spent some time in the studio today, fiddling around with this piece. My back and hand ache, but it was good to draw again.
Happy fall!
