Here is another clayboard/scratchboard study. The scan on this one is not so hot. This one is 5 x 7 inches in size. I am still just trying to figure out how to work with this medium. The source photo is a photo of my grandparents sitting in their back garden enjoying the sun.

Thanks Wendy. I have a far way to go to be where I would like to be with it, but I am enjoying it even without having the necessary skills to do it justice. The cool thing is that my mom visited today and I showed this piece to her and asked her if it rung any bells. She said “well, it reminds me of a photo of my parents in the back yard…” I was tickled that it evoked the memory of the actual photo I had used as my reference source.
