It probably did make Asha’s week. When she first saw the deer, you could tell she was giving it a moment’s consideration. Like “whoa, that thing is big, should I?” And then a resounding “yes!” But you know darn well that if it had turned around and stood its ground, she would have run the other way. That once happened with a large skunk, it turned and started chasing her and she took off running away from it and *towards* me! Then we were both running.
I can imagine that you miss Sophie a great deal. Dogs are the most wonderful creatures. By the way, I really like your avatar of Sophie. How are you otherwise? I haven’t seen much of you around LJ lately.
I know the turn tail and run. Sometimes Sophie got a little too fresh with the cattle and one would turn and stand it’s ground, maybe even charge her and she would high tail it out of there.
My avatar is just a sweet looking bully I found. Sophie was a Standard Poodle (which causes no end of smirks among my friends). Here she is with some members of the herd in 1998…
Oh of course. I knew you once had a standard poodle, but for some reason, I was thinking Sophie was a bully. When I responded to your message I was trying to remember the poodle’s name, but I could not remember it. Now I know why. *smack upside head*

No doubt it made her week, though.
Reminds me of the classic question I always asked my Sophie, “but what would you do if you actually caught the squirrel?”
It’s coming on three years now since I lost her, and I still miss her something fierce.

Oh and although it is hard to see Sophie against the black of the cow, I can see the “attitude” in her stance. Go Sophie!
